Les Collons is one of a number of villages strung along the mountains overlooking the Rhone Valley and the historic town of Sion.
The 4 Valleys ski area is the largest ski region entirely in Switzerland and comprises two areas: Printze (Les Collons, Thyon, Veysonnaz and Nendaz) and Verbier (Verbier, La Tzoumaz and Mont Fort). Ski passes can be bought for each individual area or as a combined pass. Day passess can be added for an occasional trip from Printze to Verbier.
At 2000 meters, Thyon is regularly covered by natural snow (even in August!) and can be supplemented by snow cannons on 90% of the area.
The ski area above Les Collons is fabulous with wide open and sunny slopes, perfect for all, and includes one of the most famous ski slopes in the Alps, the fabulous World Cup ladies downhill run, Piste de L'Ours; and an award winning snow park. The area boasts some of the best off piste you can ski anywhere. There is no need to ski to Verbier but you can get there on skis in less than an hour. Les Collons is pleasantly quiet but is self-contained with the usual facilities of a ski resort, including sports shops (ski equipment, rental), ski school, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. There is a samll ice rink in the village; and a swimming pool and other facilities can be found just 10 minutes away in Thyon on the free ski bus, as well as kids club and creche.
